I'm about there! Although I'd like 2-tone leather on the seats, and more horsepower. And maybe someday,go with the Hooker sidepipes...but if I do that I cant use the molded rocker panels I just put on.

a friend of mine has an L48 that i did some brake work on, and he is looking into new heads for it which are, by my understand one of the few differences between the L48 and L82. have yo looking into that or cams?

well,it turns out my 350 usnt original,& when I got the car a cam had alredy been installed. And its got a lopey idle that goes with that. So,I dont know how much HP & TQ I have, but better breathing heads would be nice anyway. As far as the differences between L48"s & L82's of that year I'm not sure if it was heads that were different, but the air intake was one air tube or two,and the two snorkel air cleaner added at least 5 - 10 HP & there were more rear gear options for L82's. I think the difference was rated at 195 HP or 225 HP...not much for a V8,but the late 70's was when they slapped on all the emissions crap w/o a computor or anything else used to retain power

also, that was the early era of RWD in-car power ratings..before that, the ratings were with no load...i am pretty sure that the L82 was improved mostly by heads and maybe a better top end section

If I was to take a guess,I may be around 275-300 HP with the cam,the alum.manifold, the Holley,ceramic,headers-dual exhaust-Flow.40's,MSD ignition.I need to find a local dyno to find out.

From what I'm told, its usually less than predicted.I'd like to throw on a taller hood,so I could have more choices in manifolds & also get more cold air to the engine. All I need is more money! My air cleaner rubs on the hood insulation now,so I have to keep a cloth on it to keep the chrome from scratching. Anyone know what a dyno would cost?
