No love for the Luv at HS Drags

HS drags the cars have to run 11.5 or under andmy friends daughteronly got two runs in for trying to cut the throttle to the right spot, first too much power all the way down, no track prep, ran a 14 but could never get it too hook, I here the tires spinning every time she peddled it. Second run the throtte was cut back so the primaries would only open about 1/2 way, 12.41, ok so now we are under 11.5 and they won't throw us off the track as threatened, dial in at 12.75 and have room to move. Plan is to door these guys since hardly anyone is running under 13, but one problem, she gets ahead of the first guy and she starts slowing down, the problem,... she slowed down too much and now with only a tiny bit of throttle available she cannot recatch him. Out first round with a 13.88. Crying shame for a truck that can go mid 9's to be tamed like that.Had a guy from the Seattle Times taking mass pictures of her and the truck and a few of the Dad. Please no come hither talk guys, she's like a daughter. When the track is prepped and the primaries are on full and the secondaries go 1/8 open she has run a 10.5 and may go for her license for 9.99 and under. Truck cage is certified fordown to 8.5's but for under 10they will probably need a chute and fire suspression as well as new clothing, that might not be done this year.

First picture, waiting to get going.

Look at the guy in the Camaro seeing what he may have to race, kinda an 'Oh Crap' look with a little imagination.

That's awesome! I bet that guy in the Camaro felt very belittled next to the Luv, lol. He was probably crying to his mother afterward about how your daughter cheated because she had a race built truck and that it just wasn't fair!!! lmao.

I think the daughter was intimidated by the track manager whom continued the whole evening to tell them she'd be kicked out if she ran faster than 11.5, it was about the only thing he kept saying. And yes, there were lots of cars and drivers with no helment running 14 and much slower. There was a bug with a dial-in of 21.13. You can almost bicycle that fast.

Someone with a delay box had what appeared to be a 9.8 car or faster, in a tubbed Camaro, was running but lost to someone in a stock pickup. They had it set to run 11.5's on the nose and lost by .002 seconds.

For you racers, another friend of mine with a small block Chevy naturally aspirated'78 or '79 Camaro just e-mailed he ran a 9.68 at a track. That is smoking with a small block and no adders.
