Polished Strut Bar

Well since i have some free time on my hands i decided to polish up my stock strut bar. I havnt installed it yet since it wont go back in till im done with my build but here is the pics of it

How it looked when i started

Then I used 80 grit sandpaper to take off all the paint and crap that was on it

After that i went through 3 more steps of sanding which included 120 grit, 220 grit and 400 grit.

Finally wet sanding with 1500 grit and 2500 grit sand paper gives the finished product.

Nice job! Is it stainless? I ask cuz I'm just wondering if it's going to rust now since the outside coating is sanded away.

thats how it comes stock with the kink and then welded at the kink. Here is what it used to look like in the engine bay

You'd think with the kink it would'nt be nearly as strong.

well alotof people will replace it with the TRD bar which is alot more stronger. I think it took me somewhere around 4 hours
