Tank aka Eclipse
ok, so has anybody noticed how much the eclipses weigh. Freakin tank. They brought our fire dept a 95 eclipse to tear open as training using our Spreads and shears aka (jaws of life). With 78ksi cutting force we had to lumber cut the A post 5 or 6 times to cut through the bundle of steel rod. Great, makes for a very stiff bodied car. sweet when you are rally racing but it means a low HP light weight honda can beat you off the line till you can get the tank rollin. 3800 lbs... anybody know how to lighten them up at all?

RE: Tank aka Eclipse
targa top, racing wheels, lose the AC.. go with AWD and you don't have to worry about those ****ty hondas

RE: Tank aka Eclipse
Oh the hondas arnt really a prob... once she gets going she is gone... Just kinda annoying... but racing wheels are deffinately next on the list.

RE: Tank aka Eclipse
Just take out the spare tyre sure to lose some weight. [sm=smiley20.gif]

RE: Tank aka Eclipse
good idea for race day... but for a daily, and the fact that it is a miniature... Ill keep it.
Im gonna move towards removing the A/C, using lighter parts such as seats. |
RE: Tank aka Eclipse
Unless you have bigger rims for your car the spare tyre isn't going to do much help anyways.

RE: Tank aka Eclipse
true... id scrape my way into the tire repair. but id make it... anyways, if it was in the front id just lengthen the spring... godda love adjustables...

RE: Tank aka Eclipse
I'd keep a few cans of tyre filler in the boot always good to have just incase.

RE: Tank aka Eclipse
only works if the tire is still on the rim... Blew out my front tire on my old montecarlo. 55mph.. it was dark out and i couldnt find my tire... shredded it off. But i do keep a can of fix-a-flat with me. What time is it over there anyway seth?
