Default Trust/Greddy Going out of business

I just got an email from Japan on this an hour ago. Apparently in Japan Trust/GReddy today filed for bankruptcy. I only have one source on this at the moment, but its a reliable industry source. It is obviously really sad news; not just for the company and their many employees world wide, but also for the industry as a whole within which TRUST/GReddy has been one of the oldest and most stable companies for decades.

I hope this news is false, but my sources are deep in the industry and are almost never wrong. http://www.bespokeventures.com/blog/?p=1248

Anyone else hear of this? I hope this isn't true

Thats insane that a company that large is in debt that much. I wonder if any of the other big companies are at risk too?

This article lacks any creditable as well as any further info on what happened. Many corps file a chapter 11 and still exist today, donald trump is notorious for that ****.

I think it is true SouL. Greddy is not #1 at all man. Have you ever bought from them directly? Or had to deal with their support? THEY SUCKED and always have. Their prices have gone up and up consistantly every year while HKS has gone way down. I mean a greddy cat back for a 3g costs like $500-$600 in 2.5 inch. I got a 4 inch HKS carbon Titanium for $500. Greddy turbo backs for the Evos and supras are over $1000. Hell their FMIC kits are all like $1300+. Their quality in the last two or three years has gone south. Ask any vendors who sell greddy product the returns have been getting worse and worse. Greddy also had their vendor pricing dicountsgo up more than 50% over the past two years.

THey set them selves up to fail. Esspecailly when China has places like power XS selling FMICs for $100-$200 on ebay. Reguarless if they dont perform it is going to hurt the big dogs just because everyone wants to pay the short price.

I've never had to deal with them. Sad news indeed but people are after quantity these days not quality. More bigger faster sooner. Who cares if it's still going to work 3 months down the line, the car will likely be trashed by then anyways right?

Unfortunately GReddy doesn't make a single item for my Conquest TSi. I have to get the majority of my stuff custom made. A 3" SS turbo back exhaust system (including muffler) ran me close to $700 after shipping.
