Default Van question

alright so i own a 1987 mitsubishi van with a bad motor...i was wondering if anyone here is familiar with the mitsubishi vans and could help me out or lead me to the right direction since i can't find any info on the car...thanks

i didnt even know mitsubishi made vans haha. what exactly happened to the motor. It sounds tome though that if the motor is gone you might be best to leave it up to a professional and bring it to a shop

yes it has a 4g64 sohc engine in it right now...would there be a dohc motor i could just drop in without any need of mods?

if its got that motor then you should in theory be able to get a motor from a 95-99 eclipse convertible non-turbo.

You could do a dohc swap but its probably more work then anything to get a wiring harness to work w/ it imo.

The old hyduai sonatas have the same engine as the 4g64, sohc.

those will not work the 4G64 in the van is a wide block motor the bolt pattern at the bellhousing is wider .... i have a motor

It was called a "van" by mechanics who worked on it. Some said it looks like jeep wrangler-- may saints preserve us! get an eye exam or something!
This is the engine:

I forget what it is, but I have the Chilton's manual for it. It is included for whoever buys this lovely old 1986 montero. Solid. Fun.
