I feel that... I thought the same thing when I typed mine... I live in DC... where its taken all too seriously

 

dude you got nothing!! here in the south you have to extremely careful how you joke around... it's terrible!! i hate to sound stupid and like a clechet but "can't we all just get along?" lol

 

Where in the South are you. When I lived in Chicago race was taken very seriously the wrong word could get U cut lol. I am in KY and TN and I guess because this is the Army there has not been a day that a racial joke or slur was not used I guess its the way we use them. Don't get me wrong I am a proud Black man but, I can still laugh at a "Grape Kool Aid joke" LOL. I would have to say I have been fortunate enough to be around people that judge you as a person and not part of a group. The guys around here that drive those big *** pick up trucks talk about me/us not as a black person but, as a tuner just like we talk about Hondas lol.

 

I gotta say its good to hear someone that can take a joke, especially when they knowits not directed at them. Way to often you hear of fights or firings (at jobs) over something that was misconstrued as a personal or racial attack.
