1998 Grandis SRS Light no go?
 

After some "grazing" the net time I too have now had a car fail WOF only because the SRS light on the dash fails to light up. (honestly cant remember it ever showing up now!)

However understanding this is vital and that I could have a Airbag blow out suddenly how is it recommended to rest this one on my Grandis '98 model.

Things I have seen so far...

1) Sometimes the ECU? plug (not sure where that is found or what it looks like?) can be disconnected and a short on certain wires being made via a paper clip etc (however that's great when you know exactly which ones you need to short - if not then you will burn fuses or worse!)

2) A Diagnostic tool is required (usually specific to the vehicle - Not an easy find unless you know what to look for) is required to check probable cause and Reset by the tool.

3) Take it to a Dealer or Auto Electricians and pay for them to "get it right" ;)

4) Find out a simple alternative and do it myself!

Considering cash is a rare commodity and not really willing to part with much - can you help or advise on this one?

By the way the car is for sale too!
