2013 RVR (Outlander Sport) Factory reset problem

Hi all,

I don't know where else to turn. And I'll do my best to explain my problem. Ive had a hard time google searching my problem because I don't know how to word it.

I have a 2013 RVR, 120k kms. For the last few months, it has been resetting itself to factory.

EVERY time, this is how it goes:

I get to my destination, lock my car with the FOB. I go to get in my car hours later and the key FOB will not unlock the car, but will illuminate so I know the battery is still functional. I use the key to manually unlock, and start the car. There is NO struggle to start at all. BUT, once started, all my radio presets are back to factory, my odometer/mileage stats are all reset to 0 or factory. The fan clicks on after the car is running for about 5 seconds. The A/C will be shut off, when I had shut the car off it was on. And the clock is reset. Other than that, everything runs great, is normal. I could shut the car off and get out and lock it, get back in and the FOB would work just fine and everything is normal. It seems to happen every couple days.. at least once a week.

Things I've done so far:
Battery is new
Terminals had some corrosion, they've been cleaned, ground has been checked

My nearest dealership is 2.5 hours away. I called them today because this problem happened again after just cleaning the terminals (and thinking that would be the fix). They said they think its the key FOB battery, to replace it. Also not to have my cell phone get too close to my FOB because it'll interfere with the computer/processor. Then he said I'll likely have to bring it in so they can re-program the FOB. I really don't want to go all that way for them to re-program a damn remote when I can't see how thats the problem.

Has anyone had anything similar?

Thanks!!

My 2011 will not recognize key fob with cellphone in the same pocket...as 4 resetting everything,u should definitely go to dealer, sounds like an electrical problem, or someone you know that is good with electrical tat has proper tools and scanner
