RE: other cars
I just picked up an 86 Dodge Conquest TSi last month. It had been sitting for a few years, so it needs some work. I just received my brake rotors in the mail, today. Struts are next. It bounces for hours after going over a speed bump... I'm thinking of getting some Tokico blues, but I'm not sure yet. All in all, it's a fun car, and the Starion community has been a valuable resource so far.

RE: other cars
ORIGINAL: notfried nice car...so where'd you get a Japanese or German Starion?and there is no such thing as a mk anything.the whole starquest line up is only one generation The MITSUBISHI STARION TURBO was first introduced into the U.K. in 1981. A 2-litre single overhead camshaft design, Although its original engine did NOT include an intercooler, it was still able to produce 170bhp-and was widely regarded as. MK 2 - NARROW BODY STARION INTERCOOLED TURBO Late in 1983 Mitsubishi Motors {The Colt Car Company in the U.K.} Introduced an Air to Air Intercooler into the Starion engine. Along with a Turbo Boost increase to 12psi the power output was increased to 177bhp. MK 3 NARROW BODIED INTERCOOLED STARION The next alteration by Mitsubishi was to replace the front spoiler with a deeper air-dam, this allowed the Intercooler to be mounted almost vertically and therefore became far more efficient. A three piece rear spoiler was fitted to the rear to give a 'wrap-around' effect . The bonnet had its 'vent's' removed and the side air panels re-modeled to produce an all round 'smooth' effect. The Front bumper also had the addition of high visibility driving lights installed & the alloy wheels increased in size to 15'. MK 4 - 'WIDE BODY' 2ltr INTERCOOLED STARION In 1987 Mitsubishi Motors U.K. introduced the 'WIDE-BODY' Starion. This was the most dramatic alteration that the Starion underwent. The wheels were increased to 16' alloys with very wide 225 rubber on the rear & 205 tyres on the front. The bodywork was . altered to include flared wheel arches and side skirt's MK 5 WIDE BODY 2.6 LITER CATALYST UNLEADED STARION The final alteration in the U.K. to the Starion was to conform to new fueling regulations with the introduction of an Unleaded engine. With a catalyst the power output was dramatically reduced to only 153bhp. The only external clue given that the car is a 2.6ltr is that Mitsubishi decided to NOT fit the 'pop up' head light washers to the front grille. Oh and its english not german so dont insult me by calling it a bmw lol |

Anyone out there with a 93 Expo SP AWD??? We're refurbishing one for our 16 year old. I've had the car since Feb. 93. It's been sitting with a dead transmission and we're trying to find a CHEAP replacement.

I LOVE the Starion/Conquest. I have been a member of starquestclub for a long time in preperation of me getting one. Eventually when I am not broke as **** I will have one...
Also...MK is only a generation classification, not a model type. Its not only a Supra thing newbs. OK so I LOVE the Starion and always have. Just thought I would share. Michael |

RE: other cars
hey watch out calling us yanks, yankees and so on. only a certain area of the states (northeast area, above the mason-dixon line) are the ones we call yankees. that strikes a nerve with us southerners, calling us yankees. we cant stand it and wont tollerate it.
you wouldnt want to be called irish, austrailianwould you? i do agree, we do need a starquest,cordia/tredia section. wont be long kdm will have only a handfull of members on his site, if he keeps banning people |

RE: Starion problem
ORIGINAL: soon2bepro I have a big problem that I cant seem to fix. Im pretty sure it is the exhaust manifold pipe that is broken/loose or watever and it is causing my my starion to have this loud putting sound. The guys at the shop told me I need to get it replaced since it is not weldable. Im havin a pretty hard time finding this pipe piece. And it is no the exhaust. Can someone help me... |
RE: other cars
Hey guys i just bought an 86 wide-body and it had been sitting for 10 years so it desperately needs some body work and engine work. the negine turns over but wont start like its not turning fast enough. I am gonna go out and hook up another car to it via cables and see if that helps but if not than from what i have researched on the conquest and starion is that over in japan they were powered by the 4g63t and was curious if i could swap one of those into it if it turns out to be a blown motor. neways any tips would be very helpful thank you.

If you can get your hands on one then you can make it work. The 2.0 that you are referring to is still a SOHC engine. To put the 2.0 out of the eclipes is a little more complicated. Am thinking of doing this swap myself. |
RE: other cars
Hi ! I Just joined the forum and i own a Starion.Car has been standing for four years so it needs a lot of work to do.But it's worth it [8D]
