fuel pump relay compatibility

Newbie here so bear with me. Are the fuel pump relays E8T06975 ('93 Talon) and relay E8T00177 ('93 Eagle) interchangeable? They look identical but not sure internals a set the same. Would hate to fry the ECU. Is there a diagram of the 6975 somewhere? Have one for the 0177. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

relays are an electronic switch with standardised pinouts. 5pin or 4 pin. Any relay that fits the socket should do the same job, with a possible difference in current handling and trigger current., but usually over 10a for automotive.

Thanks for the input bud. The smart thing to do is to break out the multi meter and B+ jig and do some side by side checking. Will post results.
Thanks again.

relay compatibility

Limited success with bench test. Removed covers (gently) on both relays. Appear to be identical. Plugged both into connector and turned ign on. The 6975 engages both contact sets w/ign on. The 177 engages one set. The other set (Fuel pump?) engages when cranking begins. Both relays seem to work fine when car starts. My problem lies elsewhere. Either ecu or wiring.
Will post if I discover the cause.

im confused as to what "set" means to you.
There are 4 ways to wire a relay. -ve switch -ve, -ve switch +ve, +ve switch +ve, +ve switch -ve.
Anyway. Good luck. Keep us posted if you work it out

My lack of electrical terminology bites me again. By set I mean contact point. When relay is energized? current flows thru the coil and creates a magnetic field(HS physics 101) drawing in the "contact "(switch) to close the loop(circuit) allowing current to flow thru the contact to the designated destination. In this case both relays switches close when relay has current applied to it. One has both "switches" close w/Ign. turned on. The other relay, only one set closes, until starter is engaged. The other switch then closes. I assume this is the feed to the fuel pump but don't know for sure. If I have only muddied the waters here my apology. I have a rudimentary knowledge of electronics...enough to measure voltage and continuity. My basic problem is intermittent start. Your answer to another post has given me a direction to proceed in. Will post if I find a cure. Thanks for your assistance!!!!
