Yes my cards are updated, and everithing is working. I think that there will be no problem, but always things can go wrong, as you may drop the HDD etc... If You have feeling that extracting the HDD, connecting to PC with 2,5 to 3,5 IDE convertor is OK for You - then there will be no problem.

 

one more quick question, can I connect the dd windows 8 and boot from the cd or will it absolutely install linux?

 

Yes, You should boot from Linux liveCD, without installing Linux. You only have to have 2,5 to 3,5 IDE connector ( not USB ).

 

Sorry but I do not quite understand! To the question, should I install linux, you say yes but adding, you must boot from Linux LiveCD without installing Linux! So the answer is no! and therefore no need to install linux?

Can you tell me in detail how the steps will take place once my dd will be connected to my PC fixed IDE connector (2.5 to 3.5), I admit I did not yet fully understood.

I started to experiment, I just got the IDE connector 2.5 to 3.5, I removed the SD MMCS easily but I have a problem to unlock it.

1) I found that linux I burned a cd and I booted it
2) I chose option 3 (unlocked) by tapping the keyboard with three carefree
3) By cons, when I get on the screen or displays "hdm root @ xbox :/ 1" where I no longer hand with my keyboard! I can not type because it does not respond! nothing appears when I type it! So I can not unlock

Very strange, i don't experience such a problem. Try on another PC, even without a HDD, just to be clear if You can type after booting. I have done arround 10 HDD's with an old laptop that have 2.5 IDE, without any problem... Tyr changing the PC/Laptop.
