Old Lady Driver Needs Your Opinions
Guess what appeared at a new car dealer four miles from my house -- a 2014 Laguna Blue AWD Outlander Sport SE with 19,500 miles. Has small sunroof, backup camera and navigation. Ugly pinstripes. So-so tires. On initial short ride seemed OK. Date of Mfg. 8/13. Taken in trade mid-Oct. Asking $14,500.
You know I don't want to trade-in and buy, but it's there and only 4 miles away.
My question: what would be a reasonable amount to pay including my car as trade? My car+$3,000? $3,500? More? Less? Remember, mine is a 2014 manual ES with 36,000 miles. (See my other thread.)
What do you think?

Car dealers are in business to make money, so unfortunately you will be taking a big hit on the trade in value of your current vehicle. I doubt they will do the deal for 3 grand and your trade. To me it would be worth $3000.00 for the automatic and upgrades on the SE with lower mileage, but will the dealer do it? I know my 2016 outlander has depreciated so much that I currently owe more than its worth. Good luck to you.
