Very loud noise

Hi guys,

i have had my new Outlander Exceed for 4 days now. Brand new from dealership.

on day 1, after driving for approx 15 minutes an immensely loud noise sounded 3 times in the car, continuing my journey this happened another 4 times and not again that day. No noise on day 2. Same noise again on day 3 about 4-5 times in 20 minute period. No noise so far on day 4!

This sounds like a very high pitched gong going off for 3 beats. It affects all in the vehicle and it surprised me so much one time i flinched the steering wheel over so i was in the oncoming lane, thats how loud it is!!!

Can anyone help? I know its a warranty job but i dont want my vehicle off the road for weeks whilst the mechanics try and find the fault

cheers

Mark

When the noise happens what warning light is coming on at the same time?

Is it your lane departure warning?

Forward collision mitigation?

over speed warning?

Seat belt warning?

None of above. It is just a random very loud noise that just happens for no reason whatsoever. It would help if a warning light did come on.
my car is an Outlander 2Ltr Exceed, if that helps

Check your handbook, but i know lane departure and overspeed warnings are 3 gongs
