Weird "Ticking" Noise???? (Help?!)

Here's some information on the car:

It's a 1996 Mitsubishi Galant, I keep getting persistent "check engine" lights with the error code of P0304 cylinder 4 misfire. The mechanic I took it to said it's likely to be a dirty fuel injector issue and to try to run some cleaner through it. The car has a bit of a hard idle and "ticks" as you will hear in the video. I'm wondering what exactly is this? It doesn't sound like it's coming from the engine to me but a bit behind it???

Thoughts??

hydraulic lifter tick "tappet"

OH, that makes sense now, thank you :)

Is there any possible correlation with the lifter tick and the cylinder misfire? I have a suspicion it could be one of my pushrods as a friend suggested but I'm not certain. O_o

Unlikely, 3kgts are known for lifter tick as well. It's oil related, shouldn't cause misfire

Clicking/ticking in the engine

I have a 2000 eclipse gs 1.4 and i have a ticking/clicking noise coming from the engine. It comes and goes but its back and louder than ever? I know i have a engine mount broken but i know what that sounds like and this is completely different. Any ideas? Also suggestions on how to get more out of my performance without paying alot of money???? Thanks.

A broken motor mount can actually amplify motor noises as the rubber deteriorates and becomes metal to metal contact at the mount. The "tappet" noise can be lessoned by using and engine flush to break down the paraffin, varnish, and lacquer that builds up inside the engine. I personally do not like the aggressive cleaners like B-12, too harsh and too much of a possibility to get bearing wash and lunch the crankcase. I have used ATF and Seafoam and had good results.

Try this

I use 1 cup of Marvel Mystery Oil about 1 week before I change my oil to break down deposits and crud. I have used it in every car or truck I have owned. It will help with you lifter chatter also.
