Similar issue

Hi guys

I have a similar issue with my outlander sport 2014 with th 4n13 engine (1.8l)

When turbo kicks in there is a while sound coming from the front of the car. The turbo is brand new just changed so it is not the turbo itself

The noise was there before also (together with the turbo whining - reason of change) but now i just have the whisle sound. Also when the whisling is heard in some cases i see some smoke at the back + notice o have a very high fuel consumption ...

Not sure what to check next as the turbo wa weather expensive ...

Is there a split or damage in any of the rubber intercooler hoses? Any loss of power? Is your oil level high?

No loss of power from what I feel, runs just fine, i feel all the HP

The hoses where checked (at least that is what the service told me) and are in theory ok
maybe important info i forgot to mention, after running for a few minutes when taking the food quickly off the acceleration it almost always "flutters". Was doing that with the old turbo also but much more worse (more pregnant sound)

I will check the oil tomorrow ....
