I raced my friend in his 2007 Pontiac GTO last night; his modsare an exhaust and intake. My mods are a 3" TBE exhaust, intake, cams, and FP green turbo on 91 octane tuned. We raced from a roll and I was in 3rd gear at about 4500 rpm at the start of the race. We counted to 3 and then went. I immediately started pulling away from him and must've gotten around two car lengths on him about halfway through 4th gear. I was expecting him to put up a better fight as GTO's are supposed to be pretty quick.

In a few months he's supposed to pick up a supercharger kit along with a tune which should give hima substantial amount of power and then we're going to race again. I'm going to use my water/meth map running 28 pounds of boost on that race but I'm not sure if that will be enough.

 

depending on the supercharger, and the amount of pounds he decides to go with. Your in pretty good shape, although i suggest maybe a turbo upgrade if you want to put up a fight. especially when your dealing with a GTO off a roll.

yea i would have expected you to take him pretty easily with those mods. Remember those things weigh 3700 lbs too

 

Youll be fine. Guss he is on a turbo upgrade that is good for nearly 500HP on race gas. Xtreme I raced a few supracharged v8s at the track in my 50trim Evo. I was on pump and making in the ballpark of 405WHP. I was faster than all of them. One was a 03 (5.7L version) GTO supercharged and the other was a brand new GT stang supercharger. I was also running exact same times as a brand new GT500 with exhaust (at least if not more bolt ons)

Keep in the mind the 05+ (or is it 06+) GTO that came with the 6.0L was much more of a beast

 

They were not made in 07', or 03'......04's have the 5.7, 05-06 have 6.0
