Hey my name is Josh. I have a '93 dodge colt GL which is the same car as the '93 Mitsubishi Mirage. I was workin on my car one day and i had a friend over helping me. He said that when I put the car in reverse, drive (basically when I put the car in gear or shifted the gears), the engine came up about an inch and then went back down. My mechanic said that for my car thats normal. I highly trust my mechanic, but I was wondering if maybe he is wrong or doesn't really know very well. My car runs fine and the mitsubishi engine seems fine and doesn't give me any problems so I was convinced that maybe it actualy is normal. If it isn't normal please tell me what could be wrong so that I can get it taken care of.

Its normal. Notice when you rev your engine your engine will raise up.
