28 weeks later the movie car question. general question.
THIS IS A SPOILER SCENE. DO NOT READ IF YOU INTEND TO WATCH THE MOVIE.
in the movie, the dude gets in the car with the woman and the 2 kids. the car would not start.
he tells her to "put it in first" then "pop the clutch when i tell you".
he runs outside where the poisonous gas is, and pushes the car from the back, he gets the car going, then BAM! the car works.
okay, if the car doesnt start, how the **** does pushing it make it work.....
CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN THAT? or is this one of those "its a movie, its not real, forget about it" kind of deals ...

Well.. think about it this way.... the car is in neutral.. so the wheels are not connected to the motor...so you can push the car freely... you build up enough speed and pop the clutch... this causes the engine to turn and if the keys are in the ignition... it will fire and start..
The older diesel cars are even easier. Because they dont work by spark ignition all you need is to get the engine turning.. and it draws the fuel in.. and it ignites. Or you can just hotwire the starter motor directly from the + terminal of the battery.... then all you have to do is get past the steering lock if there is one...
Dont ask how i know that...... please lol

REEEEALLY fun if you have a hill... however if your car genuinly has a problem and it wont start... and it still hasnt started by the end of the hill... then that really sucks lol.
That happened to me when the GST had a bad ignition control unit... (dead battery first) so i tried to bump start it.. and it jerked once...i guess it got a little spark... then it just stoped... like wtf? So i was pushing it and pushing it... while my mom poped the clutch.. after about 5 times i was ready to fall over an pass out... then i had the brains to figure out that there actually was a problem other than the dead battery
