The only key i have for my colt has seen better days. In fact i don't think it will last much longer.

I have tried to get a new one cut but was told i'd have to go to the dealer as it supposedly has a chip in it.

to look at, the key does not look as if there is any thing special about it however there is a keycode sticker on the window.

Will this key have a chip in it, and if so what is the easiest and least expensive way to get a new one?

Can anyone help?
