Turbokits.com has about 10 turbo upgrades that are direct bolt on no j pipe required like the 16g can someone tell me if any of them are any good for 2g gst http://www.turbokits.com/eclipse_turbo_upgrades.html

There is only one picture I could see... and that one I am not sure what turbo it is, but it looks like it is direct bolt up for the 2G ,and the 1G would need a pipe going under rather than use the J pipe to get above.

i need a turbo that bolts right up with no mods thats good. Does anyone know any.

Why are you so afraid of the 16Gkit? You cant just put any turbo on that car that will "bolt up". There is a lot of research involved with finding the right turbo for your car if your going to make your own kit, its not a novice project. Do you know how to read and compare compressor maps, and know the difference between exhaust housing, Compressor A/R,Turbine A/R. Thats why they have these kits, guys have done the work for you.

why not?? it is easy to do still. And either way if you dont needthe J pipe you will still need to do oil feeds so it is just as much work..

I dontget it why dont you want to buy an install kit when all it does is make your life easier for upgradeing away from the junk T25 turbo

i like spray because its easy horse power if you know what your doing. if not its bad. and its way cheaper than buying a bigger turbo and a piggy back computer yada yada yada. but i prefer turbos

do you relize how much more rewarding a bigger turbo and a tune can be compaired to spray? 1 it is much safer and 2 the power output is far better.


You add spray on you 2G now you get it to run maybe a low 14 you add a 16G and tune it maybe get injectors to and youll be able to get low 13s if you can drive. To buy a 16G an SAFCII and some injectors it will cost maybe $1000 give or take and youll add alot of HP that way with some room to spare

you would be smart to keep the N2o off the turbo car. running it on the RS is pointless as well your TSi would be faster with barley any mods to it... maybe faster stock depending on the size shot

I doubt it... RS stock 1/4 17.3ish TSi stock 15.0ish with 100spray your only making slightly more than a stock TSi so if your TSi is modded at all it would be pretty even and if it has exhaust intake and MBC the TSi will win

Usually a 100 shot con equal to 1 second in the quarter mile, give or take depending on a few things. So he'll be romping down the track with a blazing time of about 16.5-16.0.

you obviously have no clue what your talking about then:eek:. I speak from experiecne with a GS they are SLOWWW and even on nitrious they are still slow.

The stock v6 eclipse runs 15.1 I have seen guys on 75 shot only get 14.5 as there best. to me that is horrible in no way is that fast. Not worth spraying and putting the motor on that stress for a minimal gain.

Like I said your TSi stock is 15.0ish with a turbo back exhaust MBC and intake you could pull a low 14. I know my friends TSi had a cat back exhaust intake MBC and BOV and my car was bone stock we raced and it was dead even. my car stock runs 14.0 and he hung right next to me.

basically my car stock is 14.0 I have only spent $950 in modds and I should runs 12.8s ar around that easily that is a huge difference for not alot of money and I still am running super safe.

I doubt it still... If anything your RS is maybe the same as your TSi I doubt it is faster. unless your TSi is tired and high milage and beat I dont see a slow RS running with it even with N2o. I said a stock RS will run about a 17.3 a RS with all bolt ons will still only run like a 16.8 soo even with N2o your not going to see fast times IMO. and honestly I wont belive it unless you take both to a track and run them that would be proof enough ya know. Im not trying to be a jerkoff about it I just know that N2o isnt much of a bg deal espeicially on a 4 banger that is slow to begin with. like I said the stock v6 eclipse goes 15.2ish and I saw one that went 14.6 with a 75 shot and catback and intake <-- to me that is not much of a gain at all, when you take your TSi and slap on a catback and intake you will be running 14.5s or better without the spray

My point about spending $950 was that a turbo car doesnt take much to push it far. Ya I spent $22k on my car, but I could have spent $1500 on a 1G GSX and put $1000 into and hit 12s as well that is my point on that one.

argueing is ok...no harm intended at all it is a forum and opinions is what makes things work. I dont care if we get in an arguement ill still help out where I can. Tuneing an SAFCII is something anyone could go giving the right equpment to do so, trust me its a breeze it is so much easier than I ever expected it to be;)

Id still like to see some track runs of those cars though I love seeing videos ya know. Ill be posting my videos when ever I can take the EVO out for a track run hopefully this summer\spring at NewEngland Dragway

i cant go to the track. they only give free runs on wed and i work mon-fri so i doubt ill be able to make it there .and the 420 a motor was blow so i put high compression pistons in good for spray changed the barings and built the head. as of now its running crappy because the dealership reprogramed my computer and i think they messed it up because it wont accelerate past 60. doubt your gonna see any track time on that though because i cant have 2 cars where i live so its up for grabs.
