NOt exactly sure about where you all live, but in Iowa, the strip has busted down on imports. I was out opening night last sat. and I saw a lot of dissapointed racers have to park it and watch. I guess the regs say something new this year.. if you have a battery anywhere other than under the hood, you must have an external kill switch. Yeah, that means drilling a hole in your car! I have a few pissed off friends. I know this wasn't the same for last year, but just to let you all know, Iowa is like this, so watch out before you get down to the track.

That's kinda weird, down here in Ohio we don't have any rule like that....yet. But i'd imagine most of the imports at the strip would be FWD, so why would they relocate the battery? Except for the cool factor? I dunno....

My friend Tim... he has an MX3 and he did a turbo kit on it. well, the only place to put his side mount was where the battery was. so he had to relocate. talk about one pissed off guy though, he had just gotten it out of the shop 2 days before and couldn't race... yikes! but yeah, watch out cause NHRA is crackin down on imports big time this year.. bastards

I heard they were coming down kinda hard on the domestic guys lately...but i never heard anything about the imports. I gotta go check out edgewater and see if they're doing all that crap too.....

The tracks here in SC really could care less about things like battery kill switch. The only rule we really have to followis the helmet rule.

Do you know if your buddy is running the stock SI motor? I think its a b16a if I'm not mistaken. I know a little about honda's. I'm just curious. I like to know about other peeps cars.

So, you're saying that a 99 SI beat a Evo? Honestly? That I can't believe...unless the Evo driver wasn't racing...or just couldn't drive, I'm calling BS...hoist the flag please....
Even if the SI was T'd, I don't think it would take the Evo....what type of mods did the Evo have (if any). There's a guy in town that has a t'd Teg and a bunch of supporting mods and a bone stock EVO RS destroyed him....w/me in the car....i have also rode shotgun in the Teg...and I must say it's wickedly fast.....post some pictures of this guys time slip...now I'm interested..maybe a peek under the hood??

The track where I live does safety checks of stuff like lugs and battery tie downs, doesn't matter where it is as long as it's secured. Then there's cutoffs based on times. Like if you run two runs of 13.9 or lower you need a helmet and everyone has to wear pants.

Do not be fast to raise a BS flag. My buddy has a GSR that is T'ed with a T66. He gets full boost at 5k but with built internals and a 9k rev he is deadly. He made 337whp at 9psi. I have watched him beat up on Evos in the area. Even the basic modfied ones. No I do not have slips, no I do not have pics. This is my word and I am not on the internet to BS people. Just handing out some konwledge. Do not underestamate any car you see. Honda's are notorious for engine swaps and turbo/supercharger installs.

Hell, there is a hatch here in town that runs 10's with a 60-1 turbo.

Fast is fast no matter what type of car it is.

I've seen some crazy stuff at the track up here I go to every once in a while. People pull up to the line in the strangest things and every once in a while when you start to laugh something flys down the track and shuts you up.
