PCV valve

They actually do wear out. And its worth the 3 dollars to know that your evaporative recirculation system is working properly. they are located off the left side of the front valve cover. Looks like a long 14mm nut with a tube plugged on to one end. They can get gummed up and the valve sticks when they have not been changed in a while.

no?
well, i have. they dont wear out. its not the "evaporative recirculation" system. its the crankcase ventilation system.
yes, they CAN get gummed up... but that's only if the car is neglected in the first place. change and maintain your oil, and its shouldn't be an issue.
