Default ABS Speed Sensor Help

Alright,

My abs light came on the dash. So I went snooping around and found the front right sensor got sliced in half. I didn't want to dish out the $250 for the new sensor, so I went to the junk yard and bought a sensor attached to the wheel spindle for $35. So I replaced the old spindle with the one I purchased because you can't pull out the sensor for obvious reasons it rusts in.

The ABS light is still on. Any ideas, suggestions, reset techniques????

Thanks

yeah, the junk yard sensor you bought was just that!!! JUNK!!! man up and buy a new sensor. no reset techniques. if the sensor starts reading when you drive the light will go out after about 20 feet. those sensors get very brittle as they age, and when you handled it putting it in, or when it was taken out damaged it. seen it happen. live with the light or buy a new one.

I figured that. However, I don't have 250 dollars to spend right now on a sensor. Is there any compounding damage done if you don't replace the sensor???
