Default capping off rear heater lines on 2001 Limited

I'm sold that I should cap off the rusty rear heater lines which just happened to break way up underneath. Is there a really great place to do that which doesn't involve me putting the car on a lift and dropping the gas tank? Surely I can do this somewhere up in the engine compartment?

I'd love some pictures with arrows for a goofus like me, and suggestions on replacement pipes if I should for example need to replace a T pipe with a straight one. This is for a 330,000 mile full size limited, which I think the rear heat stopped working a decade ago and I don't miss it. I know people have done this, please throw me a line! It's dead in my garage until I can resolve this.
