140 HP 1.8L ?
Would it be possible? (Without the use of a supercharger, turbo, or nitous that is.) I would would LOVE to bolt in a 4G63 and have it allready there. But at this moment, neather time nor money would allow it. However, I do have an extra head I am working on. And plan to put a better than stock cam on it when it is done. Any suggestions on a 1.8L cam? I noticed the air cleaner setup is sorry on these cars. As is the exhaust system. I figure I can pick up15-20 hp between those two areas. (Possibly????) Any other suggestions other than " Throw that motor away ang get a REAL engine" would be appreciated. My next DSM will, WILL have a 4G63 in it!
-------ill shut up now.
I doubt you will ever get 140hp on a 1.8L nor do i think it would be worth the money even if you could. Now by this # i hope your talking about crank HP because WHP will never get close. And you wont get 15-20 from exhaust. You might get 15hp from both an exhaust and intake. And that is a maybe. So in other words "just forget it and save up for an eclipse with a 4g63 and a turbo"

What about the Toyota 2ZZ engine. 190hp from a 1.8? Its designed by yamaha... and its put in the Lotus.

Sorry about that, sometimes I dont type everything I'm thinking. I was hoping for 15-20 hp gain with the custom ram air / cold air intake I am building, high flow exhaust, and my newly built cyl head with the intake and exhaust ports matched. Still not shure if the cam will make any difference. Or even if there is one avalable thats not stock. (Just have not researched that part yet.) Awwwww heck, lets just drop in a GM twin turbo 3800 and get it over with!
