sounds like the cooling lines are rusted out.

so basically you are saying that i could possibly replace the coolant lines and then flush the system and that should take care of the problem

If the fluid keeps buring up and you have to flush it all the time, personally it sounds like the trans is shot.

so the trans can be shot even if i am able to drive it around town and nothing go wrong the only time any thing happens is if i take it on the highway???

other then that the trans shifts just fine no hard jumps all smooth

i thought he was saying it was just leaking coolant? Maybe im missreading this but it appears from what you said that you have noticed coolant leaking near the trans and the transmission is overheating. To me this would suggest it is not getting adequate coolant flow. But that is just my take on it.

i agree with that and that would suggest the coolant lines must be clogged or beginning to clog correct

either clogged, or broken, or both. But i would first determine that it is in fact the cooling lines that are leaking, or the threads of the cooling lines

Check you stated in a previous post that the trans fluid smells burnt and you need to keep flushing it. This is a sign of a transmission clutches wearing out and buring up the trans fluid.

The only real way to test if your trans is overheating is a trans temp gauge.

I'm rereading all the posts and I'm getting confused with what lines yur talking abt, is it the trans cooler lines or coolant lines?

trans cooling lines coming off the top of the trans right? and yes when i go on the highway and i look at the trans from the top i see some fluid sitting on top of the trans near the coolant lines and really that is the only place i see the fluid and yes it smells burnt everytime but when i drive around town nothing happens run perfectly fine that should sum it all up for you

if it were me i would either go to a junk yard and try and find some decent lines and replace them first. Because they will be cheap enough. If that doesn't work then you have some bigger problems.
