Default Burning oil??

Hey everyone, my 93 clipse is burning oil, my valve cover gasket is leaking could this be making me burn oil. When I took off that plastic cover piece that covers the plugs had a crap load of oil in it, and the two middle plug holes are filled with oil, any ideas on what it is?

your valve seals are worn out letting oil past it and your cover must have a crack in it or you need new rubber gaskets for the spark plug holes.

to fix the valve seals youll most likely need to take the head off and have sent out to a shop that does rebuilds heads and the valve, and spark plug cover are very easy. unbolt your cover and flip it upside down and pull it off and put new ones in.

Valve cover takes about 2 hours, but the work is eazy, remove cover, remove gasket, replace gasket, go crazy with rv sealent, replace cover, bolt down to 22lb, bolt in cyclone pattern(inside out). done.

Valve cover 2 hours? Jeez you guys are slow LOL... VC doesn't take long at all and no need to go crazy with RTV (I used sparing amounts on my 4G54B engine and no leaks there). But it's definately a valve cover gasket that needs done. And change the PCV valve. That's what caused the VC gasket to go and I garauntee it'll blow out either the front or rear main oil seal next. And you REALLY don't wanna change one of those (One requires retiming the engine the other requires removal of the tras).

Sounds like your right, I never thought about the pcv valve a bad one can make the oil pressure real high and push it buy everything, is this why my oil gauge goes up when I am on the gas but when off its a little low. So I will go get a PCV valve before I slap in the new gaskets. Hopefully it isnt my seals, it only has 86,000 on it wich is pretty low I think. Thanks for all the info everyone you will be seeing alot of questions from me as I do the upgrades I have planed.

Did you check to see if it was your oil cap that was leaking. Its a common thing for dsm's to do that. To fix my problem I just doubled up on the oil cap gasket.
