I have a 1991 eagle talon tsi turbo FWD automatic. I want to get the MOST street legal power i can without NOS. I want to put a full 3" exhaust including cat, o2 housing and header. I will put a front mount intercooler. WHAT I NEED HELP WITH!! I need some opinions as to what turbo, fuel system, ecu and other upgrades. I just really want the most street legal power i can get.

 

it wont be legal but it will be street drivable.... a simple exhaust is illeagal

 

get some 550cc injectors, a dsmlink, 225lph walbro, frpw/ss line kit, and a evoIII 16g... then we can talk about more power.

what do you mean a simple exhaust will be illeagal? ok i have a walbro 195lph fuel pump with SS line. So if i get like 550cc injectors an evoIII 16g and a Vortech Fuel Management Unit ( i was told by a friend this would work) or a dsm link, that would work?

 

i went on dsmlinks website and it said that i have to send them my ecu. Why and do i need to?

what if i just did this? with 550cc injectors for now?

 

vortech fmu's are rising rate fuel regulators.... their for non turbo cars with turbos. Your ecu map already can add fuel in junction with vac readings, you dont need a sfmu. that kit with 550cc injectos would work, dsmlink is just better but requires a laptop to tune. I guess in this case (depending on your money situation) that kit would be better.

 

if he is going to just be tuning the fuel why not just get the S-AFC. Since its really easy to use

 

I think what he means by the exhaust being illegal is that it's illegal to replace a working catalytic convertor. Now, there is a difference between being illegal and being able to pass inspections and be street drivable, though . I'm sorta in the same boat is you, beginning a build, but that's my understanding...
