compresion test

Default compresion test

Hey, I was wondering, what is the took called to do a compresion test. And also, how hard is it to do, and how do you do it? Thanks.

well its called a compression tester, i believe you take out one spark plug, insert the tester, and let the crank turn 3 times and read the reading, and then to so for the othere.

I can get one at any auto parts store right? and do I turn the crank by hand, or key?

auto parts store should have one, take all the spark plug wires off and then take a sprak plug out and install the tester and crank the car. you can use the key. just let it turn over a couple times.

You should disconnect the cam sensor since it the easiest thing to do and accessible. That way the ecu wont send spark or fuel. But will still crank. Or you can disconnect the coil pack and the fuel injection fuse. I just disconnect cam to keep it simple. Crank your car till you get a stable reading.
