Driving light quesitons
The driving lights on my 93 have never worked since I bought it in May. Thought I would see if I could get them working this weekend. It had a blown driving light fuse so I knew I had a short somewhere. I found the short and repaired it. My problem now is that with the headlights on low beam and I push the driving light button on the dashthe driving lights willonly stay ON as long as I keep the button depressed. As soon as I remove my finger the driving lights go out. I tried swapping equivalent relays and that did not help. I'm running out of things to check....
[ul][*]Is the button on the dash supposed to stay pushed in when depressed? Maybe I have a bad switch?[*]Does anyone have a wiring diagram?[*]Any other suggestions......[/ul]
Thanks,
Mike

RE: Driving light quesitons
I have a Haynes manual with wiring diagrams in the back but I can find the fog light circuit. It is hard to trouble shoot if you don't know exactly how it is supposed to function. Does the button remain depressed or does it pop up?

RE: Driving light quesitons
Well my fog light button doesnt stay depressed either.
You push it in and then when you let go the fog lights turn off again.
I dont see what messing with wires would do but im not an elecrician either lol
I dont c why any1 needs fog lights anyway but i really think if you push the button in and it pops back up then its a "bad button" and you just need to pop 1 in there! and hey if it doesnt work...a button @ a junkyard is lik a few bucks!

I don't know if you have figured it out yet or not, but there is a write up about how to fix this problem on http://vfaq.com/mods/1g_foglight_switch.htmlif your problem is the same as I think.

RE: Driving light quesitons
Thanks for the link superhumankiddy! I had several problems with mine first the power wire inside the fog light was shorting causing the fuse to blow and then thebutton would not stay depressed. I fixed the short and got a used switch and everything is working correctly now.
Thanks,
Mike
