Default Just test drove 91 GS-T

Just test drove a 91 GS-T that I want to buy. It has these problems:

1. Idles around 2k rpm when in neutral.
2. ABS light came on and stayed on. When we turned the car off, it went away, and when we turned it back on, it stayed off.
3. When I got around 60mph, there was a vibration in the gas pedal.

Everything else is fine, the exterior is fine, the interior is amazingly well taken care of. He is going to sell it to me for $1,800. What do you guys think? And what do you think is causing those problems?

Well this is just me and I am not an Eclipse owner, I'm a 3000GT owner, but for $1,800 I think that is a great deal. But that's just me.

Abs is the air bags dont worry about that. Well unless you want them. As far as the 2k idle i would have it taken to a shop and checked out. See what they say. Make sure its a free inspection though. Gas peddle vibrating i have no comment.

souds like a great deal to me. idle at 2k can be adjusted through the bis screw, and as for the ABS light, mine does the same thing periodically an i have no idaea why, my breaks still work fine. vibation on the gas pedal, could be many things, maybe bad motor mounts, rattly exhaust, or maybe thats just the way it is an ur not used to it. sonds like a good deal to me, all id be concerned about is the compression, as i tell everytone, go buy a gauge an bring it with u.

Dsm you have a GSX right? If so it may be that the drive shaft seals in your rear end are slightly leeking and getting gear oil on the abs sensore this happened on my dads toyota replaced seals no light ever came on. as for the gs-t the shake may be several differant things like un ballanced tires warped rotors many things can cause it.the abs light may just be a sensor going out.

Will do. Pictures will be posted when I get it. I am taking it to a mechanic to have a diagnostic check run on it for $100. They are gonna do a compression test, check the brakes, EVERYTHING. So I'm hoping everything goes smoothly and nothing too horribly wrong happens. Thanks for the help.

ABS isn't the air bags its the anti-lock brakes system. I had that problem on my talon. Its most likely just a bad abs sensor which are located on the axle.Technically you really don't need to worry about it cuz if its just one sensor bad then you still have three more.

Like DSM said, the idle should be able to be fixed by adjusting the BISS screw which is i beleive on top of the trottle body.

The vibration in the pedal could be a just bad brakes.
