Default Lifters Clicking? Ticking?

I own a 1994 Eclipse GS 1.8L and lately when I drive it, I noticed a clicking or ticking noise and did some research and figured out it was my lifters. How do i fix the clicking?
I took off my valve cover and noticed my third lifter from the left has a lot of play to the left while the others were stationary...I assume this is the main problem but still couldn't figure out how to FIX it! Book was useless and online wasn't very helpful at all...I'm new to Mitsubishi in general and just need a little push...Thanks.

I have the same exact car, same year and everything, and I had the same problem. I fixed it by changing the oil and instead of using the 5-30 oil that is recommended I used the 10-30. It completely fixed the problem. I don't know if this is the "right" way to go about fixing this or if it might cause further harm, but it worked for me and it's been about a year and it's still good. I just keep using the 10-30 at regular oil changes.

Lifters tend to be loud on DSMs regardless.

well both answers r right i have a 90 1.8 (4g37) but mine would only do that when i have low oil and yes depending if u hvae over 100k miles on ur car u have to up it to 10w30 if the problem still persists just replace the lifter or get the head internals replace (if u have the money) ( which consist of springs, retainers, lifters rockers and valves)
