Default Looking at a DSM

Ok my cousin has a 91 eclipse turbo. Bone stock, beautiful condition exterior, good interior, good tranny, anyhow he bought the car for 1000$ couse the heads were fried. I am considering paying 1000$ cash for it but my question is just how much would new heads cost? and can i find a link to a do it yourself read through. I really want this project but im not sure how much it will cost for new heads and if its cheaper to just buy a new motor?

well if they are saying the head is bad then its because it needs new valves im guessing. It depends on whats wrong though, if it is the valves then your gonna need new ones and then have a machine shop do the work. thatll be around $500 i think. But find out whats wrong first.

ya, you should be getting that car for around 500.. $1000 for a 91, turbo or not, is still a little high.. That car is already 15 years old!

^^^ x2 make him come down on the price i wouldn't pay anymore than 700 for a non working 15year old car. you can check several sites for heads, you can pick them up off ebay, 93eclipsegsx has one for sale, if you are wanting a performance head you can check conceptillusions.com, slowboyracing.com, or check any performance website for the price of valves and have a machine shop do it.
