problems of the 1G
ok ive heard of the resistor thingy in the comp goes bad all the time whats the deal with that and what are any recurring problems that i can get myself acclimated to before i get this car
i only ask cause, although i know a lot about cars, i dont know a whole lot about the brand and model specifically cept that the 7 bolt bottoms are pretty much crap along with a few other little things. Plus i like to learn about that crap so me going thru it wont really bother me cause i like projects
ok thats what i ment, the reoccuring stuff cause i know that ne thing could be wrong with this particular car esp cause its been sittin for so long but yea thats what i needed to know if thats it then can u get a set of aftermarket ones and beef it up so it dont do that??
Only when they go wrong should you change them... you can get some better ones from ebay and solder them in... works just fine.
The other problems are like... rotting rubber stuff etc... that cant be avoided

1g 7 bolts are fine
its the 95+ 7 bolts you gotta watch out for.
capacitors in the ECU of course
they never idle right theres always a problem there.
ive never had problems with head gaskets on a 1g but some do
timing belts seem to let go alot if not taken care of when needed
the radiator rots apart in older ones
ive been through enough alternators that i should have bought stock in the company making them.
I think the reason most of these cars are unreliable... think about the majority of people that own them, youger people like me and you who beat the living **** out of them - thats why they get their bad rep.
this 91 i got had one owner who just drove normally and never had any problems at all untill the timing belt broke at 135k miles.
theyre not new and people expect them to be for some reason.
