Default removing balance shafts

i seen on another forum that you can remove the balance shaft and take weight out of the motor. what is the down side of this i was thinking if removed i would onlt have the timing belt to worry about.

The only down side is a sight vibration which isn't noticeable at all. My last 3 dsm's had them removed and would suggest anyone to do it.

when you remove them you don't have to put the belt on pulleys right?

ORIGINAL: Sebba

The dealership doesn't offer that.
Its not"kit" you buy from the dealer, the vfaq gives you part numbers that you can use.

Never buy b/s removal kits off ebay thats a big no no.

there are other places you can buy the removal kits from. Like buschur racing makes a kit here
https://secure.buschurracing.com/cat...496230c83f9fa8

Also dsmparts has a decent kit
http://www.dsmparts.com/customer/pro...138&page=1

also SBR
http://www.slowboyracing.com/estore/...p;bestseller=Y

and AMS
http://www.amsperformance.com/store/...roducts_id=221

so there are other places that are better than ebay, but also cheaper i bet then going to the dealership.
