starts then stalls
I have a '93 GS and everytime I start it up, it will stall right out.. I have to hold the gas pedal down for a little bit and hold the RPM's up around 2000.. Then once I let off the gas pedal, the RPM's drop down like it is going to stall again, but raise back up to around 1000-1300.. What do you think this could be?
It's a 5 speed.. What is the BISS, and the IAC motor? It doesn't bounce back and forth between RPM's.. it will just start then stall right out, unless I hold the gas, and hold it around 2000.. then as I ease off it drops all the way down to around 500, and then goes back to about 1000-1300.. and holds there and idles..
Adjust the BISS screw, and then take it in for a full tune up. That should take care of it. If not, Sang may be right, if it continues to hunt, you'll need a new IAC motor. But, try a full tune up first. The will, more than likely, take care of the problem.

Nah it's the BISS (Base Idle Set Screw?) . What he describes doesn't sound like hunting. Hunting would be constantly up and down like it can't find the RPM it likes to sit at. BISS would kill it until it warmed up and if it's off enough it'll kill it even after warmup.
