Default throwout berring???

I have a 1992 eclipse with a 1.8l engine..its a 5 speed and i just got it running. i have only drove it a few times and noticed it is sometimes hard to shift into 1st gear. i have the transmission off so i can replace the seals because it was leaking and i wanted to know, could the throwout berring make it hard to shift into 1st gear if its bad??

any information would be helpfull
thank you

i would think it should have a problem in all gears if it was the TOB. Also you would notice a noise when your driving from the tranny. More of a squeel type noise, if it was the TOB. Im thinking it might be a 1st gear syncro. or you might just need to change your fluids or something. Also while you have the tranny off i would check the normal stuff like the slave cylinder and master cylinder

i agree...that last car that i dealt with that had a bad TOB made a sort of "chirping" noise...

in response to what TheEngineer said, it wouldnt be the cylinder or master cylider because i belive the guy who had it before me replace them both when he put in a stage 1 racing clutch. it might have been the fact of low fluids though due to the tranny leak..thanks for the help...if you get more ideas please let me know.
