Another thing if you were to use a awd/fwd turbo trans the flywheels are different from the non turbo trans.
You can use the transmission from a 94 GST. The engines have the same block, so it will bolt right up. Make sure that you get the right transmission though. I just went through a whole fiasco with replacing a transmission for my 91 GS. The SOHC uses a F5M22 transmission while the DOHC and Turbo eclipses use a F5M33 transmission. The difference between the two is that Mitsu built up the F5M33 to handle the extra power put out by the GST. The F5M22 will work, but there's now way to tell how well it's going to hold up, depending on how many miles it has on it.
