Default trans replacement

Hi all, newbee here. I need to know if a M/T from a 94 GST FWD will work on a 91 2.0 non turboFWD. It's hard to find a m/t for this car, the awd and 1.8 m/t's are abundant.
Any help is appreciated.

It'll fit, the 1.8 and 2.0 n/t use the same trans.

theyre all interchangeable, other than 90 transmission - wich work but have slightly different shift levers on them.
you can use AWD trans in a NT fwd is the center diff is welded...

The diff on a90 is the shifter calbes, shifter and the bracket on the trans. The trans its self is the same.

Another thing if you were to use a awd/fwd turbo trans the flywheels are different from the non turbo trans.

Hey if you are still looking for a non turbo m/t tranny I have one from a GS, which from my understanding is what you are looking for.

Default Trans Replacement

You can use the transmission from a 94 GST. The engines have the same block, so it will bolt right up. Make sure that you get the right transmission though. I just went through a whole fiasco with replacing a transmission for my 91 GS. The SOHC uses a F5M22 transmission while the DOHC and Turbo eclipses use a F5M33 transmission. The difference between the two is that Mitsu built up the F5M33 to handle the extra power put out by the GST. The F5M22 will work, but there's now way to tell how well it's going to hold up, depending on how many miles it has on it. If you have any more questions, feel free to send me a PM. good luck with your car.
