Transmission codes?

Transmission codes?
Buddy has a 93 Eclipse w/ a 1.8 and A/T. Was stuck in limp mode and not knowing any better he changed the tranny with one from the junkyard. He said he changed the TCM also a couple of times but it still is stuck in limp mode (fail safe). I've got a good manual and it tells how to get the codes from the ECM by checking 1-12 on the diagnosis plug but the description for obtaining TCM codes is kind of weak. It says pin 6 is ELC-4A/T, 10 is Diagnosis control, and 12 is ground. Which ones do I use if I am going to use a voltmeter to read the fault codes?

RE: Transmission codes?
What nobody ever checked the codes in their 1st gen? I finally found the answer in this 1000 page shop manual.
On the diagnosis plug you put your voltmeter leads on pins 1 and 12 to get ECM codes and 6 and 12 to get the TCM codes.
