RE: oil pan leak
where is the leak comming from? the seal? crack in the pan? drain plug? if its the oil pan gasket, spend the 5 bucks for the gasket from autozone and it will take you 4 or 5 qts of oil and 20 tops to drain the oil, pull off the pan, clean up the gasket area, put the new gasket back on, torque down the bolts to spec! and put new oil in.

RE: oil pan leak
Depending on if the pans cracked, how big of a crack it is, then yes... an oil pan can be JB welded.
I did it myself on a friends Saturn. He never replaced the pan and its now been over a year. |
RE: oil pan leak
the seller told me that the pan its self is damaged. i need to crawl underneath her one day and see what the prob really is maybe ill use a tampon and plug the hole. lmao.
josh did you pull the pan to jb it . thats my main concern is having to pull it off to jbweld it. |
RE: oil pan leak
?

RE: oil pan leak
um yeah i would pull the pan off and clean off the oil so you dont catch your engine on fire
|
RE: oil pan leak
No, I left the pan on.
If you're gonna pull it, might as well replace it. I just drained the oil and let it sit a while, cleaned it off, the rigged it. lol |
RE: oil pan leak
a little dangerous but it works lol
|
RE: oil pan leak
how is this dangerous isnt it just a compound
|
RE: oil pan leak
why would you replace the oil pan if you can just do a simple jb weld fix?? taking an oil pan off is cake... just let the car sit, drain the oil, unbold it and pull it down... clean it, fix it, bolt it back up, and put new oil in it
