Let me offer a suggestion. It's obviouse that both these cars are close enough in numbers to make it interesting. The real difference here is not whether you use a down pipe or extra boost or any other gadget...it's in the driver.

In my younger day I have slain many a faster car with a stock Mustang GT because I knew how to drive my car. I new how many RPM to drop my clutch on a launch, I new the exact RPM to hit my shifts, the right air pressure for better launches, what the outside temp would do to my times, etc...etc...

I new these things through practice at a local 1/4 mile track.

Another thing to learn is psychology. This guy that wants to race you is getting in your head. That means when you launch you will be so afraid of loosing to him you won't be relaxed and will probably blow your shifts or burn your tires out trying to stay with him off the jump.

You need to reverse it and get in his head. Quit wondering if you can beat him and act like you will. When he says he wants to race you tell him you don't race for fun but I'll humor you for $20. Now you will have him thinking he has to match your standards. Stuf like that will get him so edgie that he'll be the one blowing shifts.

Yeah, I decided to go for it... but then again, a little more power could just do it.
