Default 16 or 17" rims?

97 RS 420a stock suspension about to undergo a sport set-up suspension 1-1.25' lowering/springs/shocks/bars/strut bars ect.
Can I put 17' rims on or should I stick to the 16's?

17s would be fine. Its all preference though, your car will probably be a little slower with them, and unles you get the right size tires your speedometer will be a bit off too.

the place that installs the tires should be able to fix the speedo problem.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
I really don't like the fact that perf will be hurt/or acceleration. Is this due to the larger diameter or the weight of the wheels. If just the weight I think I'll keep them under 20lbs....

weight makes a big difference but its rotational inertia thats affecting performance, which means its quite possible that a heavy set of small rims will be better performance wise than a light set of large rims. either way 16 to 17 inch rims wont make much a difference, but if you went any bigger than that not only is your car gonna be slower, but its gonna look gay. i guess im just picky when it comes to rims, but 18's look retarded on eclipses, and so do anything chrome.

LMAO! dude the rims you saw were all wrong i think a set of 18" rims with rubber bands on them fit just right. crome rims do look like **** some times but the right set of them make any painted or toned rim look like ****.
