Default 1995 Talon TSI FWD

Am thinking of purchasing this car from a local dealership. The price is 2500 and it is a automatic. While I do not want an automatic can someone please feel me in on the potential for modification. I would have much rather had a AWD vehicle. Please advise

those cars have as much potential as the AWD. Its just a matter of preference on getting the AWD. However, with these cars you have to be careful on what your buying because they can have many issues and you dont want to have to start off with a POS. How many miles are on the car. And as sar as wanting a standard, my suggestion is you just buy one from the start because there cars are being sold all the time and its not hard to find one. So dont settle for what you dont want.

And these cars do have alot of potential when done right. On simple mods you can easily get the car into the 13's. With some more upgrades into the 12's and with some serious upgrades into the 11's and 10's

Thanks for the reply. I am going to wait and get a GSX or a TSI AWD. Can you give me a list of needed mods to get into the high 11's. I dont mind rebuilding the motors so lets do ground up to make it as reliable as possible. IF you can give me the maker of the part and around about price that would be great.

Well its gonna take a good amount of money.

Built block and head (pistons, rods, cams, valves, ect.) Best places to look for this is www.bucharracing.com www.amsperformance.com
Bigger turbo (probably like a garret GT35r)
Either a stand alone or a piggy back (DSMlink for a piggyback, or AEM EMS for standalone)

Then of course all the other smaller stuff:
Boost controller (either manual or electronic)
Guages (boost and wideband)
exhaust (3" mandrel bent)
intake (Ive always liked injen)
Front mount intercooler
Hardpiping
Turbo Manifold
clutch (ACT 2600 is a good one)
Upgraded BOV (HKS SSQV is the best)
fuel pump (walbro 255lph)
Injectors (i think 780 would probably be good)

Im probably missing stuff. But this is just what i can think of right now

anything from 95-99 eclipse/talon are all the same cars. They are definetly good cars to work with. As long as they are built up right so that you dont destroy the engine.
