Default 1998 eclipse gs Buy it or not

I ran into an eclipse today, 98 gs with 144k for 600 dollars. Wont pass inspection because of rusted right front shock/strut? tower. I dont know if that is an expensive repair or not, could anyone give me some input. I test drove the car and it runs/drives fine. Recently passed emissions, any opinions greatly appriciated. thanks

thats a good ammount of miles. So i know its cheap but expect to be repairing it alot. If the strut tower is rusted then there is gonna be alot of things rusted. The price to fix it will depend on what exactly need to be replaced. If the metal frame is fineand its just the mount itself then its a cheap fix. However there may bemore things with the suspension wrong that they are not disclosing ya know. You may end up opening a can of worms with that one. That being said for the price i guess you cant really go wrong. I bought a car for $500 with 170,000 miles and its been lasting me almost a year now with no real repairs. So it really depends on how long you plan on having this car. If its just gonna be a DD for a year or two, then id say it should be a fine car for that.
