Default Electrical source

Posted this on the electrical site, but wanted to see if the 2G group might have a more specific answer. Previous owner added a lot of neon lights and other electrical items. He took his power by wrapping the wire to the side of a fuse. I would like to add in another fuse block, but want to have it so when the key is off the power is off. How are others wiring in add on electrical items ?

well if you wanna run it off another fuse, then with the car off take an electrical test light and find a fuse that doesnt have any power to it, and splice it off that

do you want it on all the time or only when its dark? because i would say wire it to the parking/headlights, or dash lights

or even the cig lighter, because thats never on unless the key is in

well if you wired it to the lights, you'd be limited as to when you'd be able to use it, cause no ones gonna there lights on in the middle of the day for that.... just find a fuse that turns on when the key is on, and off when the key is off, and wire it into there

Thanks. Cig makes the most sense. I can add a fuse block off the power to the cig. lighter very easy. That is a 15 amp fuse and wire, so will handle all the stuff with no problem.
