Default 1st gen to 2nd auto tranny swap

Hello All,
I have done searches on this but have not found answers to the specific questions I have.
If anything I got more confused.
I know this is possible I just need to know what I need to make it work.
I have a 1g auto tranny that I am trying to put into a 2nd gen Eclipse GSX.
Questions I have are:
Do I need new Axles?
Do I need to use the torque converter that is in the 1st gen tranny or the one in the 2nd gen tranny?
Do I need to rewire anything?
Can the Solenoids in the 2nd gen tranny be transfered into the 1st gen?

Any help would be appreciated.
Step by step instructions would be awesome.

im pretty sure you cant because of the mount locations, and various other reasons like the torque converter and TCU

It bolts right up to the motor all the mounting locations are the same as the 2nd gen tranny. Only difference is the size of the torque converter and wireing. Also a dealership stated I may need to get 1st Gen Axles.

Please don't post if you ar not 100% sure and have not done this kind of a swap before.

well actually it depends on what year you got the tranny from. because there were big differences between the 1ga and 1gb setup

A 2g trans in a 1g wont work, but a 1g trans in a 2g will work. (talking abt 4g63t engine/trans here)

Oh it has to be a later 1g trans and the axles from a 2g should work. The torque converter from the 1g will only work in a 1g trans and vise versa w/ the 2g.

How many splines it has, earlier 1g's had 21 or 22 (i cant remeber) and the shift linkage on the trans is different.
