Default 1st gen eclipse 4g63t engine?

Hey guys im still considering getting a 95-99 gst/gsx. crank walk was keeping me from gettin this car but i was just on jdm-online and they have the 91-94 4g63 turbo engines for $1495.

That doesnt seem toooo bad to replace the engine if crank walk were to take place. Has anyone had any experience with www.jdm-online.com ? And if crank walk were to come is the engine the only part which would be affected?

Thanks,

If you're that scared (which you shouldn't be) get a 6 bolt engine out of a 90-92.5 dsm. Problem solved. Crankwalk is overated anyways.

agreed. Just as long as maintenance is kept up your not gonna have a problem. And they is way to much money for a 4g63. You can get used blocks for alot cheaper on dsmtrader.

Wow this sound great, i thought c-walk was something that was just like almost guaranteed in a way. When you say keep up on main. is that like the basics like oil, and fluid changes?

Thanks,

Yea using good oil and keeping up on changes is the best thing. Also the reason from crankwalk (IMO) is that you put extra pressure on the bearings at low oil pressure points, which means while your at idle and at start up with the clutch depressed. So avoid keeping the clutch depressed when comming to a stop. Just drop it to nuetral. Also you can disable the clutch start switch so you dont have to have the clutch depressed to start the car.
