Default 2.4L SOHC 99eclipse spyder.....free wheeling engine?

my timing belt snapped because my AC belt snapped and it got all tangled in the crankshaft and screwed EVERYTHING up so im just wondering is this engine is a free wheeling engine ...... is ure hope so

What do you mean free wheeling? the tearm dose not ring anybells with cars.

Yeah dude im gettin a first gen eclipse this week.It runs about twelves(its fukin fast as hell)and its got twenty pounds of boost.I wuz gonna buy a civic last week but it wuz fuked up,the shifter would shake and i would have to hold it to stop shaking. but yo holla back.

nevermind i found out by the dealer..... its a term for whether or not there is enough valve clearance when the timing belt snaps..... if there is your wont bend any rods or anything in the engine..... if not everything gets screwed up internally dont know the details im not an expert but thats the basic idea.....and for all those who want to know its not so i could have 3,000$ worth of damage to my engine because the belt snapped.......i wish i still had my honda...

wow......thats why u' follow the dealers list of maitenance. esp. for belts, that happened to my 1st. gen eclipse.....belt snapped and yey' engine gone. all the money i, spend for power adder, and didn't even bother to replace belt....[]

Well iif you snapped the belt then the engine is probably done you prolly bent a few valves if not did more damage than that (The 4G63 is SUCH a picky engine mine's shot cuz the previos idiot kept overrevving it at least that's what they say at Direct Performance an all DSM pro shop)

the thing is i DID follow the maintenance thats what sucks the timing belt had like 25,000 miles on it the AC compressor belt might have snapped and got tangled into the timing belt not sure really they are all torn apart the AC belt had been on the car for like 3 months so idunno im just pissed now lol its so sad there goes my rims i was gonna get this summer...

IM PRAYING TO GOD MY ENGINE ISN'T TOAST I just wont have a car to drive ill end up buying somke junker.......that would be a crime
