Whaddyouguys think about the 2006 Eclipse ?

Sort of styled after the 2nd generation car.

its great that they went back towards the 2nd gen style
its great that it has 2 engines and 400hp * last I heard
it sucks cause THAT model probably wont make it over here

The front end looks good, but that is about it. the rear looks like it should be the front! Also the interior needs a little more work..maybe it's just me, but I like the "Cockpit" feel of my 1g. That one seems to curvey and open. Anyway, just my 2 cents.

The image of the new Eclipse posted on the above listed Edmunds website (If the link works) has been bugging me for a few days now.

What is it about this picture ?

I finally was able to put my finger on it.

I'm see'in VW Bug lines here.

Am I crazy ?

So I've been think'in about this and I have come up with a 'conspiracy theory'.

I am thinking Mitsubishi is going for super crash safety by subtely incorporating the VW body style.

If this is true then I can try a prophecy here, and that is:
Mitsubishi will tout (advertise) this new model as having a high safety crash rating.

I kinda feel like I insulted the Eclipse by even mentioning "VW".

Gee, I grew up in the 60's when VW's were geek cars.

I think it would be cool if the 2000 eclipse turns out shaped more along the lines of the Ford GT.[8D]

I dig the interrior ! It is way past time for something new here. I'm sick and tired of all the 'half-moon' Ford Taurusey -Saturn style dash arangements.

Personally I don't like the look, too futuristic. I'm not sure if I'm the only one who thinks this way but do you think desginers are jumping ahead in desgin? I personally can't stand it when they make things look too new or futuristic. And 2 engines, why, I wish they would just go back to a turbo.
